Displaying Vintage Jewelry
I really like the file I got from Denise's Scrapbooking Room. The shoe is wonderful and the purse is great...I take the tab off for my purposes but I was in a shop that features a vintage area and we got to talking about a way to display some of the cool jewelry. She does have actual shoe clips but so many earrings are beautiful that I decided that Denise's set would be perfect. I've shown it here with a set I have. The bag needs to be weighted down but it's a fun way to enjoy your own pieces that might otherwise just sit in a drawer.

Monograms
One of the members of the Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) forum suggested a challenge to make a monogram using a font he posted along with four flourishes to be incorporated into the border or frame around your three letter monogram, so this was my first completed model. I did embellish the L and K with one of the flourish designs.
Below is the font I would have used if given the option...I've always loved the beauty of this font. It's called Shelley Allegro BT in my font list.
So from that challenge I have some borders with variations I created in Inkscape so the download for any of them will be here.

More mini purses
I finished some purses recently and this is one project where the heavier two sided paper is a perfect choice! The patterns and colors are fun!
Earlier purses designed with wallpaper samples always needed to be lined to add weight and hide the copy that was on the back, so I appreciate the ease of making these because you still have some labor in the beaded handles.
I've posted the mini purse svg template in the scal forum as well as the Scrapbooking & Cricut Chatter forum at http://www.thealliancetrader.com/ but if you missed it you can find it here.
Details on construction in my April 2009 Mini Purse post on this blog.
I put a simple strap in to hold a gift card or certificate or cash.
On this one I covered the square piece of magnetic sheeting with a flower.
On this one I used two buttons. I really liked the soft blue of the larger button and I pulled the pink and blue into the beaded handle.

Flower Power
In an earlier post I shared a design for a van-shaped box and did what I called a girlie version but was referred to as "the hippie van" in the scal forum posting! Cracked me up because I had thought of putting Flower Power on it so that gave me the added impetus to do so...
So, for better or for worse, here it is!
I will provide the file in case someone ACTUALLY wants it! The fonts used were "Troutkings BTN" and "Saru's Flower Ding" which I used instead of the "o". I like it with the flower in a contrasting color, too. The shadow was done in SCAL using Shadow Blackout set at "4".
