A Bloomin' Wall

 

I used some flower die cuts I got a couple of months ago, one was a Tim Holtz design and the other a Cuttlebug die. While I have a cutting system I like, the dies come in handy for using up paper that might otherwise get tossed.

I experimented with teal and burgundy colors and a variety of patterns. I used a small embellishment in the center of most of them and used adhesive putty to adhere it to the wall. Layering allows a number of combinations within the color scheme and adds variety. With the vast choices in papers the options are many.  Depending on the size of the flower, I use a pencil or crochet hook handle to give a little curl and dimension to the petals. And these flower can be used on a variety of projects - boxes, frames, gift tags. bottles and more!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Build-a-Flower Earring

I don't know why I feel compelled to do different things with the Build-a-Flower Cuttlebug die and embossing kit...did fish in an earlier post...now I'm playing around with earrings...so here's what I have at the moment...still tweaking a little but wanted to share anyway.

Start here with the plain die cuts


Chose from the many embossing options...


I decide to make these reversible instead of two separate earrings...I'm having a little too much fun with these dies! Give 'em a try!

Build-a-Fish

Okay, the Cuttlebug die and embosser actually calls it Build-a-Flower but I thought I might be able to make some unique fish with the shapes as well. Flowers and dragonflies are a natural with these fun and pretty designs but I'm feeling a little fishy!






I cut the tails by hand, added some details with a fine point sharpie and some jewels for eyes. I also modified one of the scalloped design for the one fish...there really is a lot of potential for variety!
